The U of A Museum had some a nice display on the pipeline, but nothing like a little first hand viewing to appreciate the gigantic engineering accomplishment. Imagine an 800 mile pipe, four feet in diameter with oil flowing at 5.4 mph!!! Ok none of this seems that amazing? The pipeline can withstand earthquakes to 5.8 and is engineered to not disrupt the permafrost or wildlife in Alaska!!!! 

 One last tidbit of info, the original pipeline cost 8 billion dollars to build, they are now selling souvenirs of original sections for $18 for 2 square inches... doing the math I have calculated the pipeline is worth 65 billion dollars as souvenirs!!! LOL
