August 11, 1999 Here are some pics of the offending rubber boot and the repair. Below is the remains of the rubber boot from a new lifetime guarantee spark plug wire set. The wire must have had a poor connection to the spark plug and the high power found the fastest route to ground. The rubber boot baked to a brittle ceramic brick and fell apart when I tried to pull the wire off!!! I think the Winnebaigis is setting its own standard for the meaning of lifetime parts!!! (13 miles for a collector gasket and 3500 miles for a spark plug wire!!!) Notice the old black boot has been fit onto the new wire... we hoped this would solve the motor miss and the voltage problem... it seems to have helped. |
